Deep into a pretty suburb, almost full, the wait staff were so friendly, recommended dishes, and just took the edge off a long day of driving. We had their meat pizza and chicken tortellini; we’d never heard of the latter and it was delicious. The pizza was thin crust, which we favor, and the sauce slightly sweet...very good! Not quite enough for two people thus the pasta. This may seem odd because in reality we’d gotten lost thinking Birdwood was in town center. But in the end the food, the warmth, made it feel very local and that added a special accent to the dinner. So speaks the OutspokenTraveler
I make the 30min trek up here often as the pizza is amazing! 10/10 would rate, i love how old school it is. They would rather focus on the quality of the pizza rather than the looks
This place confuses quantity for quality. If it were my business I 'd cut the amount of topping by half, offer EFTPOS facilities rather inconvenience people by sending them to the pub (where the food is better), lose the bigoted Halal-Free Zone signs, bring the decor into the current century and most importantly clean up. I felt glad my tetanus shots were up to date. I 'll stick to getting pizza from the Tottness Inn or suck it up and drive to Gawler.
I really enjoyed the birdwood pizza bar. I ordered the family size... Huge mistake! I felt sick afterwards! My eyes were bigger then my stomach. But overall this place has yummy food and great staff. I highly recommend this place to all travelers.
We ordered the Special Pizza and were amazed by how good it looked. Plenty of toppings on (or more like in!! a really good pizza base. We had the 12inch, but the 9 inch would have been ample. Time to make it was about 20 minutes, but well worth it. Pricing is good, too for what you get.
