Since I had that awesome experience I decided that when I was passing through Birmingham that I would order a couple to go for my ride home. I was about 30 minutes out the way and took the trek for the bread pudding. Won't be doing that again. The young lady taking the to go orders was way more interested in what she would be tipped than making sure my order was complete. Arrived 30 minutes after placing it, my order was not ready. Had to wait another five minutes or so and it was absolutely not the same portion size that I received prior, no silverware or napkins. Will I go back to Bellini's, absolutely. Will I order to go bread pudding while riding through, no.
My first time dining at Bellini's was good until I got my bill. I saw that the appetizer that the server suggested, which was crab claws, cost me $30. They were not on the menu with the other appetizers, but I thought they wouldn't be no more than $15. I had already priced the other items that I ordered from the menu that was given to me, so I knew what to expect with the other items. If I had known that the price was $30 for the crab claws , I wouldn't have ordered them. I know I should have asked, but at the same time the server should have told me the price and let me decide. When I asked him about it, he just said oh I'm sorry, the price for crab meat has gone up! Hmmm, what a way to respond. What I thought was great time to try a new restaurant and enjoy myself, all by myself, ended up being not so great! I was very disappointed. I didn't make a big deal out of it at the time because they were getting busy at the time I was leaving and I didn't want to bring any negative attention. It kept bothering me so I decided to write this review in hope that this will not happen to anyone else. The price that I paid for one person, should have been the price for 2 to 3 people. My bill ended up being $71. Too much for one person. Very disappointed!!
This was my first visit here and I enjoyed everything. The ambiance when you walk in is outstanding. The perfect lighting, the panels that separate many areas for privacy and the setup of the tables.....all a great touch. I had the Pastel Formaggio as an appetizer( which was a perfect mix of crunch on the outside and cheese in between). The shrimp around it were cooked to perfection. Keeping in line with that, for my entree I had the Shrimp Piccata. I would rate that dish a 3/5. With so many items to try on the menu that seem very tasty I will be going back again.
Quaint little restaurant with lots of personality. Bellini?s was a wonderful place to enjoy our lunch. Quite with low lighting, and a relaxing atmosphere. Molly, our server was very attentive, since it was our first visit she was so helpful in our selection. The Almalfi was excellent. Generous portion of linguine with a light wine sauce topped with tomatoes and shrimp. The Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken was the best I have ever had. The sauce was light and creamy, perfectly seasoned. The tender chicken seemed to be blackened and completely the dish. I definitely would recommend both of these dishes.
I ordered a strawberry sunburst mixed drink and it was to die for, tasted like sweet fresh strawberries without any bitterness. I also got the lobster tail and risotto, an absolutely delicious meal loaded with flavor. Our server and bartender was wonderful and the atmosphere was calming and beautiful. The portion size of the ravioli is pretty small so I suggest doubling up if you order something along those lines.
