For us, Mexican food is quite standard over the board, but they marinate and/or season and cook everything perfectly. I got the blackberry marg (photo below) it was well done and was a refreshing leak at a hot Alabama afternoon.
Loved the Buffalo Chicken Tacos with lime cream. They had no problem to switch over to Mais Tortillas for a gluten-free option. My new favorite Mexican restaurant.
The restaurant had beautiful wall paintings and a wonderful atmosphere. The food was very good and the waiting staff was nice. You seem to be understaffed right now, so be ready for what comes with it. The food still came out quickly and the queen was the best I ever had. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful ambience, good food and good service. The prices are on the higher side, but then this is in Mountain Brook. Overall a good option for Mexican foods.
I am a native New Mexican. It is hard for me to find good Mexican food in Alabama. La Paz is good. During Covid we have very much appreciated their outdoor tables. The staff is always friendly. Their tamales are small but delicious and I love that they offer vegetarian options. The chiles in the rellenos are way too mild. If I could change one thing, it would be to offer green chile sauce with all plates. And sopaipillas are puffy breads served with dinner. Not a crisp cinnamon dessert.
