Contribuisci feedbackWent here for Mother's Day . We ordered the : Apps, Samosas-meat and veg African sausage Entrées, Mbuzi Karanga Ng'ombe Karanga Kuku choma With, Kachumbrai Sukuma wiki Pilau rice Chapati The service is still in the works and the wait maybe longer than your ready for to the point of annoyance . As they have only been open for a couple of weeks everything is still in the working stage . But!!!! Once you get your hands on the Samosas with the African salsa you'll forget how long you waited .. Tender and delicious herbed meat pies as well as vegetarian pies with potatoes and other root veggies I could eat about 100 of them . The sausages were as well unreal a fine grind of meats blended beef and pork perfect caramelization on the skins with the prefect blend of seasoning . For the entrées, I personally hate goat as most places misuse this animal and it's flavors . I'm just not into gym socks : This goat stew was not this at all The stew with squash and zucchini tomatoes herbs and spice was done to compliment the true rich flavors of the goat meat . No nasty over gaminess of flavors and a hearty broth . The beef version was equally as rich and delicious. hearty chunks of beef and vegetables . Perfectly spiced As well the portions were for me perfect just enough to have with your side items but not to the point to where your half way through and tired of eating it . We ordered the greens which were lightly sautéed and very fresh perfectly seasoned The pilau rice was so great with cinnamon and cardamom The dice tomato salsa relish was a refreshing addition to the plate cleansing the palate The chicken had a great spice blend on it adding a savory nuance properly cooked and juicy . The African salsa was drinkable with a straw that's how good it was. as well you can ask to add heat to it if you like . I feel this restaurant should be talked about and shared with everyone you know . Charles and Ann were very sweet and welcoming making your visit warm and comfortable as though we were guest in their home . The menu is Kenyan derived and speaking with Charles. I was told plans to add Ethiopian dishes to the menu which I can't wait for . If you've never had African food before know you're getting into soul food (with a huge and flavorful heart that will make you keep wanting to take a bite long after your stuffed and ready to lay down A must try ! Thanks for a great Mother's Day dinner ..
This was my first experience eating African food. It was delicious! I had the blackened fish with cabbage and tomato rice. Do I recommend this place?!! Of course I do. Also try their grilled goat, it was very tender and I will have it again. My first time trying goat as well!
Don't be afraid to try new things! This place is bomb, highly recommended to anyone!Plus customer service is on point. This place needs more recognition
The grilled goat is excellent, as are the beef and goat stew. The veggies have great taste. Friendly service. .would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!
Delicious food! Great service, great cocktails, great dj. We're out of state customers that couldn't be anymore pleased with our experience here. Wish we could have stayed a bit later to enjoy the music and see what the nightlife atmosphere was like. A definite must go for anyone visiting, or residing in Alabama.
