Our visit to Blue Piano last weekend was an absolute pleasure from the beginning to the end. It is a hidden gem that maybe not many people know about. We visited the venue on a friend's recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The service was very attentive, the bao buns were delicious and the live music was just fantastic. It was a Friday night well spent.
The Blue Piano was a place we visited frequently when working on Calthorpe Rd, so an old colleague and I thought we’d revisit/reminisce over lunch. It’s definitely lost it’s sparkle, the place is looking very tired. This was a late lunch 2.15 and we were only 2 of 4 diners. Which you think would make the service good. it wasn’t. The lunch set menu is 2 small plates or a small and large, my friend ordered 2 small and I ordered a small with a large to follow. I assumed she’s done the same, so was surprised when she got 2 starters alongside my 1. So basically by the time my main came I was eating alone. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out that her 2 small plates needed staggering. Then to go with our glasses of wine I asked for some table water. 15 minutes later still waiting and had to get up and hunt it down myself no staff to be seen, eventually found someone in the garden. The food is good, very tasty but the place is lacklustre and the service isn’t great. So an average review.
Excellent place friendly atmosphere and excellent staff made a fantastic evening with friends, food and music!
I was looking forward to this as the menu looked great. The food was lack lustre. Nothing stood out at all. Service was okish, but no niceties.
