This is an amazing spot for enjoying pre-dinner drinks and live music. The ambiance and the crowd make it a perfect choice for a night out. The residents of Kings Heath, Birmingham are truly fortunate to have this gem in their neighborhood.
Fantastic pub with incredibly fast service from the staff. The atmosphere is top-notch and it serves as a great live music venue. However, the prices are quite steep - even more expensive than a central London pub. This may be why it tends to be empty until 9pm. Luckily, the pub has a late license most nights, staying open until 2am. It's a good thing there's a cashpoint nearby for when you need some extra funds.
A step above the usual pub grub and a limited but nice selection of cask beers – well kept for the CAMRA members. It really is family friendly place in the day time al though facilities aren’t extensive for little ones. Rather than a boil in the bag meal at one of the chain pubs drop in here for a little home cook soul food Birmingham style
For the first time on Friday night I visited the hare and hopped the experience that followed was very disturbing. the door staff was very unfriendly looking for my engaged coat and trying to get a drink was waited for 10 minutes when the bar was not busy and overpriced (over £4 for a standard age). After I finally got our drink, I was told that I had to stay inside with my drinks, although the obvious local friends of the pub have drunk on kings heath high street. would recommend visiting the pear tree or the geese instead of how they were much more friendly.
