Brilliant food, excellent service, super quick and certainly worth the price. Had been stopping at this Welcome Break Birchanger few times before and I didn't love it until I tried the food at Harry Ramsden's. All though there's huge selection of fast food restaurants in this place, don't think any other is actually worth the money you need to spend to eat. Fish and chips classic, not really expensive and brilliant, and lucky I ordered the smallest option I'm a big eater and I struggle to finish it. No more just a toilet break at Birchanger now it's also a Harry Ramsden's break.
You can't beat the fresh fried fish and chips here—it's better than Harry Ramsden's! The service can be a bit busy during peak times, especially on weekends when travelers come through, but generally, there's a steady flow of customers. This means the chips and fish are always fresh and not just sitting in the heater. Whether you choose coffee or tea, you'll enjoy your meal.
We ordered the large cod and chips, adding extra chips because we were quite hungry. The portion was so generous that I had to ask for a takeout box! The fish and chips were fantastic, just what we needed after a week in Provence and feeling a bit starved. The service was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area, and the parking is also convenient.
They offer three sizes of their breakfast: ultimate, larger, and smaller. The eggs are cooked to perfection, and the speck and sausage were excellent. The black pudding is consistently good. If anyone mentions it, I can't help but rave about this breakfast because it was absolutely delicious!
