I had the veggie calzone and stubbed with the vegan cheese. they also had a nice beer selection. the calzone was big and tasty! they cost a bit high, but we enjoyed dinner on their terrace and had a wonderful service.
Unfortunately, this just didn't do for us. Although I appreciate the option of vegan cheese, my man and I just didn't care for the pizza. the margherita lacked taste. we also had the hippie pig. I had high hopes on the “hiitake bacon”, thought it would be amazing like cocos or carrot bacon. Unfortunately, it seemed no different than just crispy mushrooms that do not remember speck in any way. the other vegan options seem hummus, salat minus the cheese or veg sub minus the cheese. also strongly distracting from our experience, we spent all the time (unsuccessful) flying from the landing on our pizza. and we sat inside. two medium pizzas and two water came to $38?
The hip pig pizza was great. caramelized wobble, Shijitake-Bacon, arugula and Balsamico-Drozzle. was very good! many other things on the menu could be veganism. my whole omni family was happy with what she ordered.
Seriously. It is one of my top favorite pizzas ever. Look for the Skinny Pig in the specialty pizza section and make it the Hippy Pig by ordering their housemade shiitake bacn (instead of bacon) and make sure to add Daiya cheese to make it vegan. YUM! The menu is marked for vegetarian items, but ask for clarity on vegan status of items before ordering. The staff is familiar with vegan options and very helpful when asked questions about menu items. We often get food to-go and eat at home, but check out the restaurant if time permits. It's a cute pizza joint in a great little mountain town.
