Big Dog Barbecue

I hadn 't been to this place in almost 10 years; I had some time to kill and let me tell you something.. this place is one of a kind in the best way. I 've had the honor of growing up with the family who runs this place and they are hard working kind hearted people with great taste and it shows in their restaurant! Big Dogs is what it is.. quality wholesome cooking delivered with a gracious smile inside of some of dinings most unique and warm atmospheres. 100% worth the stop

First time here, the brisket was tender and moist they let the flavor of the meat shine through without being overly seasoned. Quality homemade coleslaw 10% for church attendance on Sunday this place was great! Will be back!

I will start by saying the place was a good value. Brisket was good (a tad on the dry side) and the portion was just right. Baked beans had a good flavor not bland beans. Cole slaw was unique with poppy seeds? It was creamy with only a hint of vinegar. I really liked it. The inside of the restaurant has a unique look, sort of Crackerbarrelish only better. If I had to offer something to work on it would be cleaning dust on the hanging items and giving the chairs a good clean. Oh and the open trash barrel was over flowing, maybe do something so people don't have to look at trash while eating. The staff was very nice, said hello when we can in and said goodbye when we left. The outside seating was small but seemed nice. I would eat there again, no question about it.

I ordered the 1/2 slab dinner with hobo beans and potato salad and the smoked sausage. EVERYTHING was delicious!!!! The service was top notch. I live in Detroit and the trip was well worth it.

Big Dog BBQ is the best BBQ in Jackson! Highly Recommend it! The owner is also very awesome and works to make sure each customer is satisfied. If you are looking for a place where someone truly cares about what they are putting out, this is the place to go!
