Upon opening the packaging, I immediately noticed that the chow mein was lacking vegetables and the noodles were either undercooked or burnt. It had no flavor and was disappointing for the cost of 6.50. The prawn toast was also disappointing, soggy, and lacked any visible prawn, costing 5.50. Even the seagulls wouldn't eat it, which speaks to the quality. Despite this, the staff were friendly. Overall, I was very disappointed as I had hoped to support a local business.
The restaurant interior was quite dimly lit. We started our meal with vegetable spring rolls and shumai, followed by crispy chicken. I found the chicken to be too salty for my taste. We also tried the prawns in a spicy sauce with ginger.
I have been living in Blackpool for 30 years, while my husband has spent his entire 58 years here. We make it a point to support local businesses, from shops to butchers, clothing stores, delis, pubs, and takeaways. Today, we decided to visit Paramount and were met with the rudest staff we have ever encountered. They were uncooperative and downright unpleasant. Considering that this restaurant relies on locals to sustain its business, you would think they would be more welcoming and friendly. After all, the decor hasn't changed in 30 years.
Beautiful food ,The dim sum platter and duck and plum sauce were top notch Will be visiting again, takeaway and restaraunt
We walked 20 minutes from our hotel in Blackpool after reading reviews. Best Chinese I have ever had and the lady serving us was so polite and kind. Inside the family run restaurant is beautifully designed. Will definitely be back next time we are in Blackpool.
