We were here for a Virginia Tech football pre game meal as the game was at 8:00. We had eaten here a few times before with the latest 10 years ago. We had a 5:00 reservation but got there at 4:30 and asked if we could be seated then or we come back at 5:00. Lila the hostess said no problem and were seated immediately. Lila ended up being our server also. She asked for drink orders and my wife went with the house Red which was an excellent choice. Note: Zep's is also a retail wine shop. I asked if they could make a Negroni for me. Lila said she was a bartender before but asked for the ingredients and proportions. And it was perfect! We both ordered Caesar Salads crispy with a nice covering of creamy dressing. AND the Eggplant and Mushroom Parm with pasta and sauce as the side. Another great choice. The portions are huge. Lila checked on us frequently. Zep's is in the shopping complex across from VT. Very convenient for events at VT. Thanks, Lila for making a special meal even better.
Have been here several times before with pretty decent meals, but very disappointed on this visit. Gameday menu limited it was actually the day after a game quality of dishes not good pretty bland, pasta overcooked, Caesar salad seemed like it was from a bag, 4% service charge to use credit or debit …. I could go on, but I’m definitely not going back. Don’t waste your time or money.
We commute back-and-forth from Florida to Massachusetts. We visited this restaurant the beginning of June 2023 and we're so blown away by the meal that we came back tonight. My husband had the chicken Parmesan, which is a very generous, serving and delicious. On both of my visits, I had the Mediterranean salmon, which is cooked with Kalamata, olives, feta cheese, red onion, and spinach, and served with a side of buttered spaghetti. Fabulous. I will be trying to re-create this dish at home. It's a wine bar also so it offers reasonably priced wines which are very good. We don't usually visit the same restaurant twice because we're only coming through for one night and like to try different places, but Zeppoli's will be a favorite anytime we come through this part of Virginia.
Imagine having a ten mile mountain bike race in the cold and expect to have a nice hot plate of barbecue but what you get is a cold dry plate of meat the best thing they had was their chips
