Don't bother with the fancy big city bakeries that are expanding into franchises to sell their famous donuts. As a Philadelphia native who has visited New York City many times, I can confidently say that this bakery in the middle of nowhere surpasses them all. The Amish women here create delicious donuts, pies, chicken salad, ham salad, and an array of other baked treats. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and have never been disappointed. It may be a trek to get here, but I recommend doing some research beforehand. Nearby, there is a charming antique store in Blain, as well as Fowlers Hollow and Big Spring State Parks which are perfect for hiking or dog walking. King's Bakery is only open on Fridays and Saturdays.
Donuts had their own special character and were quite good. However, the peach pie I bought was by far the worst pie I've ever had in my life. We couldn't even eat it and had to throw it away.
The restaurant offers a variety of delectable baked goods including whoopie pies, cookies, bars, pies, sticky buns, icing buns, homemade candy, and more. They are open on Fridays and Saturdays.
A nice variety of delicious baked goods, woopie pies, bars, cookies, icing buns, sticky buns, and assorted pies.
