This year we visited on a Monday, not realising that virtually everything in Blaye centre is closed for the day, so beware if you're planning a trip! In the evening we ate at this beautiful restaurant. The setting is stunning, even taking into account the new covid guidance for restaurants. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very service oriented. The whole atmosphere gave the restaurant a very good ambiance, quietly romantic and spacious. We both ate the foie gras followed by the magret de canard and we were not disappointed by either dishes. Not just in terms of taste, but also in terms of presentation, it really was excellent, so a huge thank you to the staff and management. We will return.
Beautiful setting for a sunset dinner over looking the river. Excellent food and wine. Staff is very attentive
We visited Blaye yesterday- the citadel is a UNESCO world heritage site and well worth a visit. We ate at the Citadelle restaurant and had a very enjoyable lunch. We sat outside on a shady terrace overlooking the river and had a fresh, well cooked lunch. The service was excellent and the meal reasonably priced. Could not fault it.
