Prices are crazy for what amounts to chicken you have to pick the bones out of and some dry Mac N cheese. If you do order note the portion sizes are rather big, but that was not why we didn't finish. Frankly what we did eat didn't sit well the next day either so if you're touring and have a plane ride in the next few days I wouldn't recommend this.
I got oxtails, mac and cheese and pigeon peas rice. Everything was seasoned wonderfully, oxtails were falling off the bone mmm.
What a Surprising find in Alaska. We went here off a recommendation from a Chena Springs employee. So glad he did that we went. Spoke with the proprietor for a bit after he asked about why we were in Alaska. We asked the same he gave his story. He made fresh cabbage for us after telling us how he does everything himself. Great young man even better food. Of all the Jamaican spots I've been to, including Jamaica, his food is pretty good. He has a unique twist on his seasoning which made the jerk superb. This is definitely a Premier Eating Spot for Fairbanks and should be Highly Recommend. When we go back, this will be our 1st stop to eatParking: Parking is on the side, right by stairs to door
Chef Rico and his wife are amazing hosts and serve delicious Cuban food — salmon, shrimp, beef and chicken dishes all very artfully prepared and refreshing. And on top of that is the wonderful music he played. Really the best restaurant we’ve dined in Fairbanks!
Found this place while visiting the area, and we came to dine, because we saw they had 5 starts and great reviews! Wow, this was on the money! Place was snug and warm on a cold January evening, and the food that came out was absolutely delicious. So flavorful, hearty and a great portion size. What a delicious treat for the tummy and soul. Can’t rate this place highly enough. Soooooo good! Chef Rico was very pleasant and friendly. Such a cool Cuban vibe.
