Went to this great place called Le Saint Sébastien in Blendecques, they catered for 50 of us without batting an eyelid. Only one waitress, with no doubt plenty of help behind doors, serving us faultlessly. The food was amazing, plentiful, served hot, drinks was flowing....A great experience, I wish all restaurants were so perfect. We were so impressed with the service that we did an extra whip around for the waitress.
Too bad we never have the opportunity to stay here. we arrived at 17.00 clock to close the hotel. as logis we ask to let the hotel know if we arrive after 6.00 clock, we were surprised. at 6.30 no show yet, so we decided. we will never know what we missed.
When our earlier visit to the restaurant for a cross-channel trip had closed, we asked for a recommendation from nearby weinellers who supply the trade. they have not only recommended the saint sébastien, but they have made a booking for us. we thought that the cordial greeting we received, but all the diners were welcomed similarly. the menu at 34€ proved to be delicious scalopps, perfectly boiled pierre and bark fillet, 3 good local cheese and a rhumbaba with the bottle on the table, if a top-up was required. the accompanying was varied and not overcooked and the service was attentive and friendly a good antidote to paris pomposity. the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. a light jump from calais. we're coming back!
Very good, very French restaurant. attentive and competent service. eat very well cooked, good choice, good wine list.
