Contribuisci feedbackNow, let me keep my comments about the service brief. Please, can you stop with the attitude? If you're having a rough day, that’s not my problem. We’re not close enough for that to affect the way you treat customers. If my presence at the restaurant is a problem for you, then perhaps you need to reassess your attitude. Lastly, the staff isn’t the owner, and if they’re the reason for lost business, it could ultimately jeopardize both their jobs and the owner's. Just something to think about.
**Oxtails:** 1/5 – Unfortunately, this was among the worst I've ever had. There’s really no excuse; it was poorly seasoned, very fatty, and clearly not cleaned well. The texture was unappealingly sticky, reminiscent of cow foot. **Cold Cabbage Side:** 5/5 – This was fantastic! It had a pleasant sweetness that complemented the jerk pork wonderfully. **Chicken Patty:** 1/5 – I only managed three bites before tossing it aside. The inside didn't even resemble chicken; it had barely a tablespoon of some kind of meat. It was served cold and was genuinely not enjoyable. **Service:** 3/5 – The young lady who served me was friendly, but the young man at the counter was not. When I inquired about the soups, he rolled his eyes before responding. Will I return? Yes! The jerk pork alone makes the visit worthwhile!
I ordered the Baked Chicken, but I was disappointed to find that it resembled more of a makeshift stew chicken, which was not enjoyable. The rice was excessively mushy, and there was so much gravy drizzled on top that it made the dish nearly inedible. Although the staff were polite, their service couldn't make up for the poor taste and presentation of the meal. I'm giving one star because the Mac and cheese, while not exceptional, was decent enough to salvage the experience a bit since we were quite hungry.
I don’t typically write reviews, but I felt it was necessary to share my experience this time. Over the past few years, I've tried at least ten different Jamaican restaurants in the Springfield-Hartford area, and they all seemed to tone down the flavors to appeal to a broader audience. But that is definitely not the case at Paradise Restaurant. I ordered the jerk pork, and it was a flavor explosion that I absolutely loved. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and spice that you expect from jerk dishes. My only complaint was that when I got home and started dividing my large dinner into lunch portions, I ended up tasting so much of the pork that I didn't have room left for the dinner I had planned. But honestly, it was completely worth it. The jerk sauce is simply divine! Treat yourself to a visit to this place—you won't regret it!
If I wanted jerk pork fat, I would have specifically requested it. It’s frustrating to spend $13 on what turned out to be just rice and gravy, especially when the person taking my order had a miserable and unfriendly attitude. Unfortunately, I was already at work and too far away to address the issue. As a regular customer, I’m really disappointed.
