Farm has been my go to restaurant for years now when I’m in town. Love the food, ambiance and bar setting. The reason for my low rating is due to the lack of service I received at the bar. I couldn’t wait to take my guest to this great bar only to be disappointed and embarrassed We sat down and weren’t even acknowledged with a greeting despite sitting in close proximity to the service area by the woman bartender. There was a male bartender at the other end of the small bar chatting away, wouldn’t even look our way. We gave up when our table for dinner was ready. Please do customer training with the bartenders specifically (our waiter was delightful). It was very unprofessional, rude and I will hesitate before I bring a guest to the bar again. I hope to have a better experience next time. Thank you.
Farm is a nice place, cute decor and nice ambiance. We ordered two different pizzas, and found them to be bland and tasteless. The wine was nice, and the server was attentive, but the dinner was expensive and disappointing.
I love the ambience and overall feel of this place. Our server was attentive and professional. I feel like the portion of the farmhouse fries appetizers is way huge....great for 6 or more people, but wasteful for 2... maybe a smaller portion could be offered so as not to waste. I liked the bison burger but it needed seasoning. I salted it and it was better but I expect a restaurant of this quality to pre-season so that my first bite is like YUM! Red potatoes in the potato salad could have been cooked a bit longer. Neither of these issues would deter me from returning, just some friendly thoughts.
The overall experience at Farm Bloomington was “OK.” This was our second time dining there and I would say our first time we had better service. Not impressed at all by the hostess staff. There was no real salutation greeting upon entering the establishment nor upon exiting. Additionally, I left behind my hat on the chair at the restaurant and no one on staff has been helpful in getting back to me. These restaurants in small college towns like Bloomington need to exceed in customer service—Not enough to just be OK.
