Shockingly expensive. Any review you read that says the prices are OK are quite uninformed. I east sushi A LOT. And it's actually cheaper to spend the gas money to drive to Chicago get higher quality sushi for less money. You can get higher quality sushi at Mitsuwa 2.5 hours away for a 1/4 of the price. I think Central IL sushi places are getting away with murder price-wise because the local residents don't know any better. They can afford to cut their prices in half and still be quite profitable.
If you want authentic Chinese and Japanese food, this is it!!! We love the Sushi they make in front of you by the Sushi chef. We also like all the delicious Chinese food they have on the menu. We also enjoy the import beer and saki (Japanese rice wine). The place is clean, price is very reasonable. Once you try it, I guarantee you that it will be the only Chinese and Japanese restaurant for you!
I go to the Orient Gourmet primarily for the Japanese cuisine, but I've been told that the Chinese selections are just as good. If you like GOOD sushi, not the stuff slapped together at some of the local Chinese buffets, then this place is for you. Good sushi can be pricey, and this place is no exception. But overall, you're getting what you pay for. Their spicy tuna roll is to die for, true comfort food. The roll is actually spicy, as its bright/hot red center would indicate. Other recommended items include their soba and undone noodles, and the vegetable and shrimp tempura. The house salad dressing is extremely good as well (I'd love to have the recipe! . While this venue is small and a bit claustrophobic, the food just can't be beat.
