We've been coming to Chetola for years at Christmas to see the Christmas lights. Decided to surprise my 97 yr old Aunt with a nice dinner too this year. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but we had the most lovely experience! The atmosphere is so cozy and beautiful (loved the live entertainment), we were sat directly when we arrived, our server was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. The brussel sprouts appetizer was a huge portion and so tasty! The cornbread and apple butter was heavenly. We all enjoyed our meal, portions, and the ambiance. 4 stars as it is a little pricey and the accessibility could be improved. Walk from handicap spot to restaurant is a bit of a trek and includes a stretch of uneven patio too. Bathroom is on far-side of restaurant. A memory we won't forget!
This is an intriguing restaurant. I enjoyed my dinner, but my wife's meal was disappointing; she ordered the Schnitzel. The server lacked knowledge about wine pairings, and I had to return my selection because it clashed with my dish. Unfortunately, it took far too long to receive a replacement. Additionally, the music was too loud, making it difficult for the hostess to hear guests wanting to be seated.
The people and food are always fantastic here! We went for Mother's day and they had a special brunch menu that was outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits and everything was wonderful. Our server and all of the staff were amazing as well and were always there if we needed them but never over bearing. We have been several times and will continue to go back
We had a 6 :00 reservation granted we were just a few minutes late with 2 kids one 3 and the other 5 months quite a walk to the front door. They had great live music which was outstanding because the hostess told us we would have to wait. It was about a fifteen minute wait even with reservations. Now the food was amazing , and that was why we were there anyway, service was very slow, I guess in the mountains people like have a slower pace but with children every second counts. I was very delighted there were several families eating that night with small children. I did overhear apologies to other tables about the wait and forgetting some of their orders.
