Jack Stack Barbecue Freight House

I don 't even know where to start. This is usually our go to BBQ restaurant in KS. Last weekend we brought some extended family with us to enjoy some amazing food and the amazing atmosphere of jack stacks. Unfortunately, for the first time at this establishment our experience was horrendous. We stopped at 11am to speak with the hostess staff about a reservation as our party was large (10 people). The hostess stated that they did not have any reservations and that if we call about an hour before we would like to eat the wait should not be bad. We did just this. We called over and got put on the wait list. When we arrived at our designated time the hostess began to set us outside on the patio. It was 100 degrees and we had 4 children dining with us. Zero air flow, being swarmed by flies. I asked them why we had to sit on the patio when we not only called ahead but also checked with the staff the morning of. The hostess was incredibly rude and said we could take the table or leave. She stated they did not have the ability to push 2 tables together and then sat us separately. We did not even get to dine with our full party. We then waited over 30 minutes just for our drink order to be taken. When staff approached us, they looked annoyed and stated they were in the middle of shift change. However, we watched them taking everyone 's orders around us, even though those tables had been sat after we were. About an hour later we received our food. Half of it was messed up. Sides with different people 's meals, missing food, zero refills on drinks. A few of us had ordered sweet tea. My first refill had particles floating inside of it. They resembled mold. I asked the waiter if I could have a new beverage, the waiter laughed at me and said no it 's tea particles. Noone else 's tea (which was filled at the same exact time) had these particles . After basically telling me that I was overreacting he walked away and brought me what i had asked for which was a soda. We were not asked if we would like boxes, dessert, drinks or anything for the rest of the meal. It was miserable. Our food was covered in flies, we were sweating without drinks for over 30 minutes. We had to walk to the bar just to get our children some water! This whole experience was so horrific I don 't think we will be back. Over $300 combined at our table for dinner and it was not worth even a penny.

This is an amazing BBQ restaurant! Only place I’ve seen that had BBQ Lamb Ribs, gotta try them. Amazing

This is my favorite BBQ restaurant anywhere in the USA. They have great service, the food is outstanding and the decor is awesome. The Freight House is my favorite location.

This is my favorite BBQ restaurant anywhere in the US. Never have a bad meal. The one at Freight House is very cool decor, awesome service staff, very attentive. The food rocks, always does, you never go home hungry.

When I visit KC for work, I always look for burnt ends. The only reason why I did not give this place a 1 star is because of the ordering process. The order was on time. However, This is the third time that I have received Fat ends. The ends that did have meat, was literally dried out. Not to mention the potato was cold. I called myself tipping generously to get a better outcome and still the same results. This place is pumping out mass production with no consistencies. Go to Q39 or Joe's Bbq.
