The views from the winery are great any season from both the inside and the outside from the patio (which seems pretty spacious). We loved the cabin type rustic decor of the place. We did the tasting for both reds and whites, and most certainly preferred the whites at his winery (which is weird b/c my husband usually likes reds more pretty much everywhere); reds were not bad but they did taste like they could’ve done a tad more aging, well, for our taste anyway (but we in no case claim to be great experts or connoisseurs more like wine enthusiasts, lol). But all in all, great day trip from DC and highly recommend this place.
A lovely and peaceful little tasting room with a lovely view. Bring your own food allowed and they have plenty of snacks and light bites which were really good. Knowledgeable, warm, and friendly staff helped me and my friends out. I had the 2017 chardonnay, and I very much enjoyed it, matched up perfectly with how the staff described it. Also had a nice duo playing some hits inside. Would 100 percent come back :
BLUF: gorgeous location and good service. Wine selection and quality is a little less than expected.Went with a relatively large group on a Sunday. Only a few others there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their selection of food is small but it was all pretty tasty and relatively reasonably priced considering it's at a vineyardThe wine selection is pretty slim. I'm not a fan of reds, which make up the majority of their selections. It also meant a very slim choice of three white wines, which frankly all tasted very very similar. I did not try reds because I don't like them but all those around me said the wine was okay but not great. The location and staff make it worth the visit, and I would go back for that if I was nearby. But I would not make it a destination for a special trip.
That's it..it was ok staff is friendly but they told us nothing about the wines...sold nothing. They pointed to a menu and that is it. But we had fun
Always try to visit this quaint, rustic winery when in the area. Gorgeous and peaceful views. Always feel welcomed here. Great wine and brie cheese appetizer.
