Excellent wood-fired pizza. Casual, laid-back atmosphere. Can’t wait to return and try different varieties.
DON 'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! I had been craving pizza since coming to town. Options are limited. I had walked to this place a different night that listed as open, and they weren 't. So I tried again last night. Wish I hadn 't. I 've eaten a lot of pizza through the years. Even learned how to cook them in a large coal fired brick oven at Grimaldi 's. La Italiana stated their pizzas are thin, I thought Great! NY style . For toppings I asked for a red pizza, mozzarella, feta, spinach and onion. Sounds great doesn 't it? What I got was a pizza that was so thin it was almost see through, Looked like it had barely been painted with unflavored red sauce, totally covered in spinach leaves, a few very skinny rings of red onion and on each slice, 1 spoon drop of ricotta not feta, on each slice. I mean really... What 's worse, the middle was raw! The outer crust was cooked, but not done. Just because you have a fire going in your oven, doesn 't mean it 's hot enough to cook yet. This kid definitely needed to be educated. I stomached 1 slice and threw the rest out for the street dogs.
We chose our own seat on a Thursday evening and it was not busy yet. waitress speaks at least English and Spanish fluently. she was nice and helpful. the pizzas are wood fired and very thin crusts. they also offer smoothies, atlas and panama beers and sodas. 2 flavored olive oils and pepper flakes and dried basil are placed on the table for on your pizzas. we were not starved, so the large was sufficient for the 3 of us. if hungry, order more. Pizza was great! would recommend it. it is located acriss and down a little from the brewery beside the reggae shop. prices were reasonable.
Walking around town and decided to stop. We shared the ham and cheese calcine and a couple of margaritas. Calcine was OK, nothing remarkable. Deli ham and some cheese. Dough was cooked perfectly but had no flavor. Sauce was bland and came right out of a package. Margaritas were good. Service was good and prompt. Food arrived quickly after ordering. All and all. It was OK.
