In the rule we visit this village to stay in the saint louis, but this time was for a break on the way to the ferry. our usual drinking place at the pmu had unfortunately closed, so we decided to try the caffe instead. the two rooms were warm and welcoming, and as we had read good reports about the cook, we decided to eat. madame came out to explain the choice of appetizers and netzens although by hare pate tries, we went straight into the main, our choice steak pave boiled to perfection-witn chips. a small beer and wine, served by the waitress and we had enjoyed a pleasant lunch. in any case a place to come back.
If you are in the area, this is a great bar. Good selection of drinks with friendly service and the landlady speaks English, which is very helpful if your French is as poor as mine. There were plenty of locals eating the food so although...I didn't try it myself, I fully expect it's good.
My wife and I were ambling around and called in this bar for aperitif before dinner. The lady who runs this cafe is really friendly and has a wicked sense of humour. Great beer and my wife loved the Rose wine. If you like motor...bikes it has 2 in the bar and some great memrobelia. They do a 3 course menu if you decide to eat here.
My husband and I popped in Saturday afternoon, looking for a coffee and a light bite, both of which were good. The restaurant was busy with local family groups. Lady owner speaks v good English and gave us lots of tips about what to see...and do in the local area.
