Contribuisci feedbackWe had a good meal there initially, but our recent visit left us disappointed. The portion of carne asada we received was quite small and felt overpriced. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
How can anyone consider this Mexican food? They don’t offer green sauce, pico de gallo, guacamole, cilantro, or any real flavor at all. There are no bags for takeout orders, and if you want a container for your food instead of carrying it in your pockets, they charge 50 cents for it. The only reason they have any customers is that they’re the only place within an hour's drive to get a burrito. I’m tempted to start a taco truck here so the people of Bonanza don’t have to keep enduring this!
Local legend has it that the original restaurant burned down, and this one recently reopened under the name Cactus J Restaurant. They don’t have a website, but I found their menu on Facebook. Although I wasn’t able to call ahead, I decided to stop by on my way to another restaurant. To my surprise, they were open, so I ordered fish tacos and regular street tacos. Everything was delicious, especially the fish tacos—I think they might be the best I’ve ever had!
While passing through town on a four-day motorcycle trip, I decided to take a quick break and ended up enjoying a couple of tacos too.
