Was good but the best part was the cheesecake with blueberry sauce . Best cheesecake ever , so creamy and not too sweet . Blueberry were locally pick and homemade.
If you drive down the Boavista Peninsula on this side, make some time to drop into this small Cafe and the Craft Shop next door. If no one is in the store, go over to the cafe and visa versa. This is mostly a one woman operation from meal preparation, service, cleanup, cashier and craft shop salesperson. We had the seafood chowder and it was among the best chowders we encountered during our 5 weeks on the Rock. Parking our front and there is no charge for the astounding view from the dining room.
We were driving to Bonavista and stopped at the Bonavista Social Club only to find it only open Wed. to Sun. off-season. We ventured on and spotted Susie's. What fun we had in this tiny restaurant at the side of the road. Food was good-great clam chowder full of clams, good portion of pan fried cod and delicious fish cakes. The ladies serving were chatty with great senses of humour-it was like eating at an aunts home.
We really enjoyed our meal at Susie's. This tiny restaurant offers simple, home-cooked, tasty meals and friendly service. We had the fish cakes, and they were very good. Worth a visit!
I had clam chowder(liquid broth), cod tongues (oily) and snow crab (sweet and sumptious). Seafood is fresh. Seating for about 12 indoors. Helpful advice offered to tourists. Cash only!!
