Neither steak was cooked as requested, and both were surprisingly thin for the price. The sweet potato fries tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, not fresh at all. The cheesy grits were served in a small styrofoam bowl and were lukewarm. The only decent part of our meal was the shrimp, which were average to small-sized compared to what you might find at other seafood restaurants. The atmosphere was very casual and basic, and the decor felt outdated. Overall, we didn’t have a great experience and I wouldn’t recommend this place. JD's is fairly new in Bonifay, but unless they make some significant improvements, I doubt they will last long.
I walked into the restaurant and noticed that only one older couple was seated; there were no other customers. The cashier was busy counting money while the other staff members were gathered, laughing and chatting. I sat there for 20 minutes, and not one person approached me to take my order. Frustrated, I left and called the manager/owner, who was very rude. I will never return to this place again; it felt very racially prejudiced.
The restaurant has been beautifully remodeled, and the service was exceptional. Courtney was the best waitress I’ve ever had during a dining experience! She was absolutely wonderful—so kind and efficient. We loved her! We will definitely be coming back, even if it’s just for the incredible service!
The seafood here is absolutely delicious! I really enjoy the sweet potato fries with their special sauce. The hamburgers are great too! Everything I've tried has been really good. If I were traveling on the interstate, I would definitely want to stop for this special treat!
Don’t let the ambiance fool you—this restaurant serves outstanding food and provides excellent service. We kicked off our meal with the crawfish queso, which was served with tasty tortilla chips and blended with crawfish tails. I appreciated that it wasn’t too spicy. I ordered the grilled shrimp with coleslaw, while my husband had the Cajun shrimp Alfredo, and we were very satisfied with both dishes. Our waitress struck the perfect balance with her attentiveness throughout our dining experience. Just a heads up: their address is incorrect on Google; it should be 1995 instead of 1994. They are located next to Pho’s.
