Contribuisci feedbackAs I am constantly looking for good Italian food. I'm just trying to find what I can find. At first I noticed Sazios when picking up a pizza from the Bonsall pizza shop. At first glance, Sazios looked up with his al fresco dinning area, and I had just finished cleaning and feeding the horses. So, I made a note to take the kids and try it soon. Sazio's location is a difficult one for this type of dinning. If you are not specifically looking for him, you can simply pass by Mission Road every day without ever knowing that it is there. Like most of the things that are out of sight, they soon become out of the mind. As a southern Italian snob, I usually try a restaurant, and if they don't cut the must, as they say, I don't go back. I'll put them on three basic articles. Linguine with white mussel sauce, Lasagna or Veal Parmigiana. On our first trip to Sazio, the children and I were immediately set by a very nice hostess on a comfortable table next to the front window. Our waitress arrived soon and introduced herself and took our drink order. A few tables away from us was a big party with several children who simply didn't want to eat Italian at night and occupied our waitress for a while. So much that the restaurant owner approached our table, imagined taking our order. After reading the menu, I discovered that everything al la Cart was ordered, not a great selling point for me, but I ordered a salad with a house raspberry vinaigrette that was superbly mounted and dressed. I then ordered the linguins and the children, (Well, I don't remember what they ordered) When my duck arrived, the aroma hit me and I knew I was for a treat. The sauce was a white wine and mussel juice reduction with lots of garlic. The sauce accompanied my al dente Pasta perfectly and was not the thin, watery, soup after thought, many places in North County go as a shell sauce. I ordered extra homemade bread to make sure that none of the sauce was returned to the kitchen. The price was moderate and the staff was very friendly. Because of the waiting we had, the owner treated me to a very nice glass of Valpolicella to enjoy after eating. I have gone since and have always enjoyed my time there I feared, although for the restaurant because of its location, so If after a good Italian meal definitely Sazios you will not regret it.
