My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary on September 3, and we decided to return to the same restaurant where we had our wedding dinner. We are looking forward to this special occasion, as it means so much to us to celebrate these wonderful years with each other. We would be grateful to have the best table in the house, just like we did on our wedding day when everyone bought us a drink. It was heartwarming to see the generosity of the people around us. We can't wait to share our happiness and special anniversary with the staff at The Peddler Steak House, who have made a difference in our lives. We truly appreciate the outstanding service provided by the wonderful crew at this restaurant. Warm regards, Mrs. Debra Reeves and Mr. Roger Reeves.
For starters, the service was the best I?ve ever had at any restaurant. We had 5 kids with us and they were quick with food and very accommodating. The salads were delicious- I love that we could chose from a menu what we wanted on the salad. The bakedpotato was okay, steak was good. We got dessert to go- it was the most awful slice of cheesecake I?ve ever tasted in my life.Everyone with me tasted it and said the same thing. 10 dollars and it was a very small slice. Had to throw it away. Other thanthat, the service And everything else was good. I?d come back, just wouldn?t get the cheesecake again.
Arrived in Boone 8/29 and decided for a good dinner. Very bad choice amidst all of the colorful reviews. Service was good, no complaints in that aspect. Server was kind and brought our drinks, the ?peddler? strolled up on a drink cart with three piecesof meat that didn?t look?.?5 Star? fine steakhouse dining. The salad concept is nice for customizing?..in the end a bit much tofill in a piece of paper for one?s salad. The bread was hard and cold. Ended up going for an unorthodox approach and invested inthe fried shrimp and crab cakes. This is where the hammer hits the nail in the coffin for this venue. The fried shrimp wereoverly cooked, with old oil. The texture of the shrimp was vulcanized into a new polymer?sorry, but these were not ?fresh? atall, seems like someone was sent to the Food Lion to grab a box of Gorton?s boxed fried shrimp and threw them box and all in themicrowave. The crab cakes were like burnt hockey pucks?..the asparagus was beyond overly cooked into a mush, no clue how themolecular structure of asparagus maintained that long. Wished and hoped for for a better experience by the spectacular ambienceand decor. Unfortunately we will spend our money elsewhere. We ate what we could stomach, paid and made our exit and went to theChik-fil-a next door. There went $97 down the drain. Not recommended.
We have been here twice while in Boone. Their employees are always nice. We had a few problems with the food being cooked correctly and such the first time, although the manager corrected it quickly. Their build your own salad is perfect and theyeven have a kids salad plate with crackers, cheese, ham and such for the little ones. I don't like that they are smaller sothey only have half booths. Other than that and a few re cooks they are a nice restaurant with good food.
I have to say they have revamped this establishment and it is by far better food wise and ambiance now! We will be returning!!
