Roots was a pleasant surprise. In a country setting with friendly service. Food was creative and fresh. Fried green tomatoes in a beer batter were lovely. House made bacon jam and pimento cheese were tasty additions to some of the dishes. Kids chicken tenders were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The shrimp ravioli was delicious. Fish tacos had perfectly cooked fish and flavors that blended together nicely. Very pretty setting in the vineyard and kids loved feeding the fish in the pond after dinner! Locally grown and locally sourced ingredients.
Amazing food! Burger was locally sourced and service was spectacular! The event planner and chef helped our table the entire time with enthusiastic knowledge! We received a personal tour of the greenhouse-in which they grow all their vegetables and herbs-talk about farm to table!! Complementary hush puppies were delightful! The wines are so unique. I have never tasted a wine so grapey, it was GRAPE! Definitely would reccomend this restaurant and winery! The views are beautiful, the wine is spectacular, and the food will leave you watering at the mouth!
This is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places I've been to in North Carolina. The Owners served us our Wine Tastings and were so welcoming and personable! We had a great tasting and enjoyed a full glass of wine out on the property and in the Gazebo on the Lake. We missed Lunch that day so bought some some of their pre-made sandwiches to enjoy on the Deck which overlooks the lake. Fortunately they had a Brunch being served the following day (on Sunday) so we didn't miss out... we came back Sunday and had a FABULOUS Meal. Dixie Eggs Benedict... Poached Eggs on Chicken Fried Chicken served on homemade Biscuits, with Sawmill Gravy. Wow! The Menu was amazing with very original dishes like that. We really fell in love with Sanders Ridge Winery, Restaurant, Organic Garden, and their Cabin too, and we already booked the cabin for next month... I'm so excited to get back there!
Run for the hills. They say they have an extended Sunday menu, but any other day they serve a menu with 5 or 6 items. My turkey and cheese sandwich was on a stale roll and had one piece of cheddar cheese and very little turkey. It was bad, very, very bad. We have eaten here 3 other times and always impressed. New kitchen staff and while the building and grounds are very nice, not worth the ride from Charlotte.
