La Folie Rouge - Bordeaux

Excellent French fare. Highly attentive service at a reasonable price. Focused menu the selections all quite good and varied to cater to diverse tastes. Very convenient to the Opera house.

La Folie Rouge is a nice restaurant to have dinner after a long day of walking and sightseeing. It offers inside and outside seating, although during weekends outside seating might be difficult to get. Staff was incredible friendly, helping my wife and I with our french. It was the first restaurant we visited after arriving in Bordeaux, and the welcoming to this lovely city, could not have been better. Also, we had our dog with us, and without hesitation they offered to seat us inside with him! Yep you read that right, we ate inside the restaurant with our beloved family member. The appetizer (called entrée) we ordered was the “bruschetta de margret de canard fumé au foun”, really good and refreshing. We also ordered the “burrata di buffala”, which was okay. The cheese was really really cold, at least for my personal taste. Lastly we ordered the “entrecôte” (boneless rib-eye) and although cooked perfectly it was under seasoned, I would have preferred a bit more salt and pepper on it.

Nice waiter. Quickly served. normal but appreciable!!!

We only had coffee and fresh drinks outside on the promenade. Disappointed because we didn't know they were serving food until 7:00. Sucer, the service is fast and the coffee is good. Smo spili samo kavo in hladno pijačo zunaj na promenadi. Razocarani ker nismo vedeli da hrano strežejo sele ob 19h. Sucer postrezba hitra in kava dobra.

Nice restaurant where we were warmly welcomed. Very good value quality price.
