The price of meals was very reasonable but as is usual in Melbourne the drinks were about $2 a glass more than they should be.We will certainly be going back there soon.
This is a new restaurant in Camberwell. We live locally so we are keen to have a new eatery in the area. It's a very plain dining space, and the kitchen area is not what you would call dynamic so if it was me I would close it off, or partially close it off. Old refrigerators and not much on show in them. Our meal was just OK, and a tad expensive for what you can get compared to other local Italian dining places.I hope I can return in 6 months and it is a better dining experience
We bought a Deals coupon (2-course) to try this new restaurant for our Friday night dinner date. Customer service from their staff was top notch. We had the calamari and saganaki for entrees; the seasonal veges with butter sauce (paid extra for this) as a side; the Chicken Risotto and Chicken Cacciatore for the mains. As we do not drink, they let us have coffee and tea instead of wine with the meals which turned out to be really good. Both our entrees, and the vege side dishes were REALLY good. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of flavour for both the mains. They were cooked perfectly but just did not have depth of flavour we expected from an Mediterranean restaurant. Would have been better with more garlic, onions and stock perhaps. It's like the entrees and mains were cooked by different people. Overall, the portion sizes were reasonable, serving time was good, and we left feeling satisfied apart from the lack of flavour in the mains. We hope the standards of the entrees and mains will be on par as they settle in. :-)
We visited this restaurant not long after it opened so we wanted to excuse them for any mishaps that may have transpired that night. Unfortunately the fact that the owner was way more interested in his friends that had come in to eat than making sure we were having a good night (and we were the only other ones in the restaurant) left us with no other option but to not give them a second chance. We were so excited to be getting another Italian restaurant near our home but unfortunately the service was so poor that even the food couldn't save it for us. Its moderately priced and the food is Ok.
If you're like me and hating picking one menu item, go for the tasting board breakfast which includes a daily special pastry plus small portion of any other two breakfast choices - love, love, love this concept and all for $15. All cafes offering breakfast need to take a look at this!! Customers love choice, but they also want to try many of those choices. Service was friendly and fast too. I'd go out of my way to revisit, even just for their sensational coffee.
