I absolutely adore this restaurant. They serve the freshest and most authentic Asian cuisine. The duck, dumplings, and san choy bow are incredible, and the prices are very reasonable.
My family (two children, three adults) went out to dinner on Sunday at a restaurant. The dumplings come in three varieties: pork with cauliflower, shrimp, and a mix of meats and vegetables which can include pork, bamboo shoots, and shrimp. The dumplings were very tasty, not oily, and had a very thin pasta wrapper, which could be steamed or fried. We tried the steamed pork with cabbage and chicken/shrimp dumplings and found them to be delicious, juicy, and of top quality. Our grandchild loved the noodles so much that it was entertaining to watch how quickly they devoured them. The Peking duck was above average but could be better. We believed that the duck was deep-fried instead of roasted with firewood, which affected its authentic Peking duck aroma and made the meat dry. The pancake wrapping for the duck was also too thick. However, it may have been unfair to compare it to the best Peking duck I've had. Despite this, we all enjoyed it and even ordered more pancakes. China Xia also offers a variety of rice and noodle dishes for $9.50 for lunch and dinner, in addition to their dumplings, making it a good value. The service was great and there was plenty of parking available outside the restaurant.
Replaced by Ronz Roti Kaya since about Sep 2015. Pity as the reviewers made it sound interesting. Too bad....: (
