Contribuisci feedbackI recently ordered takeout from this restaurant over the weekend, and it has become our go-to place when we are craving Thai food. I decided to try the Pad Kee Mao without chili, and even though I was initially concerned it would be bland, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful combination of garlic and basil. The dish had a good amount of meat and vegetables and was a satisfying portion size. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.
The duck red curry and lamb gar salad was . Would recommend.Down side is small setup with variable service. For an east side suburban thai restaurant its fine.
You can't go wrong with this classic favorite. This Thai restaurant has been our go-to for years, even though it's a bit of a trek for us now. The Pad See Ewe noodles and curries are always amazing, though slightly fancier and pricier than other Thai spots. For us, Phaya Thai always measures up and we keep coming back for more.
Another brilliant local restaurant to experience. We really are spoiled for choice in Box Hill South, specifically along Canterbury Road and surrounds, with excellent dumplings, fish and chips, Indian, pizza and, of course, Thai. Since moving into the area we have tried all the other choices but hadn't yet tried Thai. Between two choices, we chose Phaya Thai, as the other restaurants along that inner strip are wonderful.<br/ <br/ We were definitely impressed on a fairly gentle yet-still-on-holidays Monday night. Table for two, with a serve of the mixed entree dish to share, the signature-listed lemongrass dish and chicken satay dish, with both jasmine rice and jasmine tea. Waitress was lovely and attentive; interior was small but charming (especially the Thai-inspired metal art plate and bird-dragon pieces ; food service was quick, at about 10-15 minutes; and everything tasted brilliant for the price bracket, as well as large portion sizes for the two mains (To note: Not sure about other reviews complaining of cost. Everyone has different means, of course, but nothing seemed terribly exorbitant, at around $15 a main. In the spirit of honesty, there were two instances of inedible gristle in the otherwise delicious chicken satay, so that chips away a little but not enough to detract and easily corrected.<br/ <br/ So we would definitely visit again and recommend for those looking for a nice experience and great Thai.
Our Favourite Thai restaurant. Small but very personable. Excellent service their special fired rice is a favourite dish and their general standard is very high worth experiencing
