PJ's Mexican Kitchen - Boroondara

My best friend and I went for dinner on Friday night. It was my 2nd time here, and with the 1st time being so good I thought I'd try it again. Didn't disappoint, however the staff weren't quite up to scratch as they were at my 1st visit. Nonetheless, still had a great night and the food was very good. Cosy restaurant which can be a little noisy. But if you're not wanting a quiet intimate dinner, then PJ's is fine. Lots of interesting imported bottles of wines, spirits, liqueurs on the shelves which you can buy if you wish. Some of these bottles are not available elsewhere. (I actually purchased one on the night). It's a fully licensed Restaurant, but it's also BYO wine.A nice gesture is the complimentary bowl of Nachos & Salsa upon arrival. Enjoy ! (PS. Inauthentic Mexican setting, tasteless food, dishwater margarita, so-so service. My family brought me here for my birthday after I noticed the restaurant while driving in Templestowe. I love Mexican food so this was a opportunity to taste some of my favourite foods. When we arrived the waitress was attentive and served us with tasty (slightly spicy) nachos and salsa. After taking our order the margarita that was served was tasted like dishwater. Unfortunately, the main course was not much better and, together with small helpings, was also tasteless. The vegetarian meal included chips disguised by some sort of sauce. After our initial service the staff were not attentive and did not ask us if we wanted another drink even when they removed the empty glasses. We were also not asked if we wanted desert. Not a place I would go back to although there were many other families there for a Tuesday night.

The restaurant is specialized with traditional Mexican cuisine which is quite delicious and the spot is quite cozy and warm. Not in the middle of big mall and crowded but in a calm place where you can enjoy a dinner or launch with your mate or friends. Great spot if you want to try Mexican foods. The chef is talented and everything is upper-standard. Staff are totally friendly and they have prepared our food in clean and neat manner with nice presentation. Great eating!

I love Mexican ! PJs did not disappoint ! They have great kids options - perfect portions. For us we got the tacos which were fantastic totally recommend service is fantastic !

Enjoy Mexican and the menu is great for vegetarians and meat eaters. Love the margaritas! Service good. For an in and out in new hour having had really tasty tucker
