Kava Neo Taverna - Boston

Finally got the chance to see what all the hype was about and it sure did live up to its expectations! Came here to celebrate my birthday and everything from service to food was amazing! The grilled octopus absolutely took me by suprise! I can’t wait to come back?

Flavorful Greek food, just really pricey. My partner is Greek and just came back from 2 mos in Athens and said everything tasted very authentic. We had the zucchini chips, roka salad and baked feta to start zucchini chips were delicious in the tzatsiki and fried to perfection. Salad was okay, very light on the halloumi and pears, would skip this. Feta was tasty but this is something you can easily make at home. For mains we got the moussaka and mixed grill with a side of lemon potatoes. The moussaka was the star, the beef was so flavorful and the topping was so light and fluffy. The loukaniko and lamb chop were my fav for the mixed grill, but for close to 50 there wasn't a lot of meat, I would skip this dish and try something else. We got the baklava and the yogurt for dessert which was a sweet ending, but nothing mind blowing. We tried the cucumber cocktail which was okay but stuck to beer afterwards.Service was excellent and the ambiance is very nice it's on a fairly quiet neighborhood corner in the South End and the interior has a clean, modern nautical theme.Overall we enjoyed the food, service and space, just seemed steep for many of the dishes.

The zucchini chips are to die for! All the other dishes were also really good. The waiters are really nice and there is a lot of outdoor seating (the inside area is pretty small). Recommend trying the wine too.

One star down for the value (pricey), but lovely nautical themed space to enjoy a variety of Greek small plates. We arrived 6p on Wednesday without a reservation and were able to get a window table. I am glad they hold walk in spots everyday despite the small space! They told us we could have the table for 1 hour and we expected someone to kick us out on the dot, but they didn't approach us until close to the 1.5 hour mark. Food: zucchini chips goes without saying! iman surprised us! roka salad I was hoping for more of the pears and nuts chicken skewers felt dry to me but my friend really enjoyed it lamb meatballs portion size was way too small for the price baked shrimp also small portion size (probably 5 shrimp in there)

This restaurant is a staple with excellent food and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the zucchini chips and lamb keftedes. However, I noticed that most of the tomato-based dishes tasted quite similar, which diminished the variety and excitement of the meal—I'm not sure if they use the same sauce for all the dishes. The cauliflower was unexpectedly very spicy, which took me by surprise. As for the cheese, it was just okay, and I probably wouldn't order it again.
