Summer Shack - Boston

We love Summer Shack for it's raw bar and food. The oysters were expertly shucked (better than Legals) and the New Year's Eve prix-fixe menu of stuffed lobster and sirloin was perfectly cooked. The accompanying wedge salad with crisp bacon was a treat. The service by Marisol was professional and friendly and pointed us in the right direction. The only disappointment was the lack of a list of wines by the bottle (apart from the wines by the glass) I hope this is temporary, because with so much delicious food, pairing it with a choice of wines would have improved the experience.

Place has sadly gone down hill. Lobster wasn't fresh and certainly not lbs. Probably had been in the tank a long time. Wood Oven Baked stuff all tasted like petrol. Service was very nice and pleasant it just too long to get anything, need to hire more folks. Figured this may be because it's slow in the winter, we'll try again when things warm up because normally very good.

Good food with good service and beautiful surroundings.

I was looking for a long trip from Pittsburgh to Boston. Saw at the bar and had a cup of Clam Chowder and a Connecticut style lobster roll with Coleslaw and Fritten that I had before. Both were great from my point of view. Clam Chowder had a beautiful seafood flavor, not like potato bacon soup that you all get too often elsewhere. Lobster in the role was perfectly cooked and juicy. The bar service could have been a bit more attentive. Coleslaw is great, but the side salad is a bit exaggerated.
