Today we had a family outing with our children who are students at CU.
The food at the restaurant was decent, but not exceptional. My companion and I both ordered the prime rib eye steak with two sides each. I also had two beers. The total bill, including a 20% tip, came to $170. If the meal had been priced at $100, I would have been singing its praises. However, for $170, I expected a higher level of quality.
The food at this restaurant was fantastic, and the prices were lower than other restaurants of the same quality. However, the service was slow and there was excessive upselling of toppings and sauces, even though some portions could have been shared. Additionally, not all of the items arrived at the same time, which was disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber like Choohouse.
The best happy hour on the planet, hands down. We were visiting Boulder and we made a reservation for dinner just in case we couldn't get a seat at the happy hour. We arrived at 5:30 and were able to get two seats at the bar. There were a few tables still available in the bar but all were taken by 6:00. Alex and Ken took great care of us, keeping drinks and food coming. We could not believe the quality of the food for the happy hour. We had 3 cocktails and 4 glasses of wine, two appetizers, a soup, 2 salads and a dinner and our bill was $56 before tip. That's crazy-crazy good!!!
