The friendly people who own and manage this farm are always a pleasure to interact with. We make the drive of over an hour and a half each year to come here, and we plan to keep coming back for many years to come! Thank you!
There has been quite a bit of criticism regarding the pricing at this farm stand and its neighboring establishments. I’d like to share my thoughts specifically about the Christmas trees. We've been coming here for four consecutive years after previously purchasing trees from chain stores. When I buy noble firs, which are considered premium trees, I find that I sometimes pay $40 to $70 more here (or sometimes the same price), but the quality is outstanding. The trees remain fresh, and their size and fullness are significantly larger and healthier. This year, our tree was once again beautiful and healthy, lasting throughout the entire season. In contrast, the other trees we’ve seen lost their needles quickly and struggled to take in water, even with a fresh cut on the stump. As someone from the Pacific Northwest who has worked with tree farms and forest stewardship, I appreciate the quality this farm stand provides. We can definitely see the difference, and our years of experience support our decision to patronize this farm stand. The staff is always helpful and radiates holiday cheer! We will continue to return each year.
I paid $25 for a decent-sized pumpkin, and when I mentioned to a woman I believe was the owner that the prices felt like a scam, she simply replied, "Thank you." The farm is charming, and I genuinely want to support local businesses, but it has to be a mutual effort. I suggest taking your family somewhere else, as you could end up spending a small fortune on inedible squash for your kids. We chose to take our business elsewhere.
The fields of flowers are absolutely beautiful. The produce is high quality, but the prices are a bit steep, likely due to its freshness compared to what you’d find in grocery stores.
I usually visit the farmers market on Saturdays, but I’ve been feeling quite disappointed lately and remembered Munson’s! I’m so glad I decided to go there! They have the best tomatoes I’ve had all season. I also picked up a few cucumbers, and I’m sure they’ll be just as fantastic. Next weekend, I’ll probably grab a melon too. It’s definitely worth the short drive from Broomfield!
