Spruce Farm Fish - Boulder

I had the wonderful experience of dining here after my graduation ceremony. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Although the wait was a bit long, it was definitely worth it, and the service was outstanding. I ordered the trout, and it was delicious. I can't wait to return!

I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. My wife's prime rib was tough and lacking in flavor, while my bison steak was too chewy to enjoy. The last underwhelming steak I had was at Frank's Chop House in Boulder last May. Tonight, we found out that Frank's has closed down and some of the staff have moved to this restaurant. Is that just a coincidence? I doubt we’ll come back, especially with so many excellent steakhouses nearby. Spending $50 on a bland, tough prime rib seems foolish. On a positive note, the vodka martinis were fantastic.

Great food, but be prepared for crowds. My relatives often dine here and really enjoy the menu. We visited for lunch on a Sunday, and it was quite busy. Thankfully, we had a reservation, so we were seated fairly quickly, but our waiter had to wait quite some time for the kitchen staff. The food was good, but I’ve had better meals at other restaurants in the area. The pancakes were beautifully presented, although I couldn’t snap a picture before my hungry husband dug in! I ordered trout, which came with asparagus; I swapped the asparagus for fries, forgetting that it also came with rice. The fries were meant to be truffle fries, but I didn’t really notice a significant difference. Still, they were tasty. The decor and location are absolutely stunning!

I had an excellent culinary experience during my visit! We decided to grab a bite before heading to a live music event in town. I ordered the rosemary chicken sandwich, while my guest chose the strawberry cream cheese pancake, and both were outstanding. The rosemary chicken sandwich featured grilled chicken, arugula, and avocado on a uniquely roasted sesame and black sesame seed bread, which was incredibly creative. The flavors worked together wonderfully. Bravo!

I had a wonderful dinner here. The fresh trout was delightful, but the scallops were definitely my favorite—they were incredibly flavorful. The atmosphere is beautiful and carries a sense of history. Overall, I would definitely dine here again!
