Stopped in the store and found some blueberry juice and cute gifts. If you have friends or kids this is a great alternative to “ sightseeing “ Seattle!
End of the season approaches (August) but we had a good visit. Tried the blueberry ice cream sandwich, made with Lopez Island Creamery blueberry ice cream, as well as picking up a punnet of heritage blueberries.Fun to visit.
We went the first weekend in August, and arrived just after they opened for the morning. The parking lot can feel a bit small if it’s a busy day, so try to get there early. This isn’t the cheapest spot to do blueberry picking but it is a lovely one. You pay a $5 grazing fee and pay for the berries you collect. The bushes are a taller variety, so there isn’t much bending over needed. They’ll supply the bucket and bag for picking, there’s a portapotty and a hand washing station, so it’s set up nicely. They also have a little shop with a small place to eat (some picnic tables, a bench, chairs, and a hammock) which is lovely if you just want to purchase blueberry themed things. I prefer their blueberry lime popsicle (amazing on a hot day) but they also have blueberry lemon, and pints or half pints of blue berry ice cream. My spouse loves the blueberry juice. They also sell fresh blueberries, hats and shirts with their logo, and a blueberry scrub that I love. The blueberry scrub makes an excellent gift if you’re looking for something self-care related that’s a bit fancy and high quality.
They have Lopez Island ice cream which uses Bow Hill Blueberries very creamy and very filling get the full pint, because you'll finish it easily, especially if sharing.
Bought ice cream, jam and creamed honey.Delicious and fun stop!
