We have dined here multiple times and have enjoyed the creative and flavorful menu. The pizzas are especially delicious. While the place is still new and the staff is young, the combination of the location, food quality, and reasonable prices make it a standout gem in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.
Food was underwhelming we stopped off after a trip to Vancouver Island rather than cook at home. Great location but needs a injection of some passion for food.
Ok so I'm not Canadian and Poutine never really appealed to me (sorry I can hear the cries of anguish from every red blooded Canadian reading this, sorry again but heck it just doesn't sound great. Well I've tried it a few times and it kinda grows on you but frankly it's not a great National dish surely? WELL they served it here as a promotional upgrade to fries so I had to have it (Scottish blood! . It was REALLY good the cheese curds were defined, identifiable and delicious. The fries were ALSO excellent and the sauce was GREAT. Even the slightly salty taste was GOOD sea salt not that saxo c**p. Sorry again British reference. IF ALL POUTINE WAS THIS GOOD I'D BE HOOKED. Maybe I'll even be a Canadian one day. Then there's the burger, **** hell that was awesome! A REAL brioche bun, great Albertan beef, good sauce, no stupid, gimicky options just GREAT! Thank you. The beer is from Howe Sound so no complaints there (outside the British nit picking beer stuff, see Howe Sound Brewery review . Service was great. Ambience was spectacular with the Thunderbird Marina opposite and palm trees all around (in DECEMBER! . A great drive to get here too. If the rest of the menu is as good as the Burger and Poutine then this place will be on my REVISIT list. NOT CHEAP BUT definitely worth every penny! If travelling back from Whistler or Squamish duck off the Sea to Sky (Hwy 99 just before Horseshoe Bay and visit this excellent pub/restaurant or drive up from Vancouver. Well worth the trip.
We dropped in recently for lunch on a Wednesday after a walk in nearby Lighthouse Park, our first visit to this place, which was fairly empty. We were seated promptly and provided with the menus. The waitress was quite personable and friendly. We were just looking for some small bites, so we ordered the mushroom stuffed with crab and goat cheese ok but I doubt that this was goat cheese, it was good but too stringy for goat. The Thai green curry with chicken was rather pricey for the location, but was quite ok and tasty. Good Postmark IPA. Nice location, good service, ok food nothing to rave about but not deficient. Would we come back again? possibly, but we certainly wouldn't put it on the map for a must repeat visit.
We found Hugos on the low road (Marine Drive) on the way home from Horseshoe Bay. Our repast consisted of the soup of the day, a burger and fish chips. We were considering the butter chicken but thought better of the idea. Service and grub were fantastic.
