The food arrived quickly and the portion size was surprisingly generous—definitely not a complaint! The burger was tasty, with the pickles providing a balanced flavor. The chips were well-prepared and not overly salted. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. The only drawback was the initial wait to be served—allocating a table, providing the menu, and directing us on how to order took a little longer than expected.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. The hotel is charming, the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable with generous portion sizes. The nice warm fire contributes to a cozy atmosphere.
I went with the steak, which was cooked perfectly to medium and accompanied by a mix of greens (peas, broccoli, and beans), smashed chat potatoes, and my choice of sauce. My brother ordered the chicken parmigiana, which was massive and tasty—I even got to sample it! It was served with a side salad and chips. Dad chose the whole trout, which came garnished with lemon and was accompanied by a generous portion of chips. Overall, the service was excellent, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable.
Generous feed on a cool winters evening! Absolutely loved my chicken parmigiana and my girlfriend was satisfied with her bangers and mash!<br/ <br/ Great portion size and great vibe.
Classy Dining in Bowral. On a fine sunny day caught the train to Bowral and was lucky enough to find this lovely renovated pub. A very relaxed classy dining room, with an outlook on to a stunning courtyard beer garden. Welcomed by a delightful waitress who was knowledgeable as to the food and wine on the menu. The hotel has the same owner as St Maur, a local vineyard. Tried their Argyle Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Can recommend both highly. A good selection of dishes so I chose scallops and pork belly with pea purée , scotch fillet steak and fries, and creme brûlée. All good with the main being overshadowed by the other two dishes for style. Truly a fine hospitality experience.
