They were so rich and satisfying that I ended up finishing them for breakfast! My friend ordered a turkey club, which looked fantastic when it arrived. He had requested mayo and mustard on the side, but unfortunately, these were missing, even though the order was noted correctly. The friendly young woman who took our order was multitasking—handling phone calls, seating customers, and seemingly managing the indoor dining area all on her own. It was just a minor oversight from the kitchen, so it wasn’t a big deal. However, my friend did mention that his sandwich was quite greasy, and the shiny bread certainly supported that claim. Overall, I definitely plan to return, even if it takes some convincing for him to join me again!
This is the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere without the need to dress up. My husband joked that he wouldn’t propose to me here, but the bar food is satisfying and the beer is refreshingly cold. They have a fantastic deal with half-price drinks and appetizers from 4 to 7. The wings were tasty, although my husband felt they didn’t have the spice level I requested. He did enjoy his nachos, even if they were quite standard. One unusual aspect was the extra fee for using a credit card, which depended on the total amount spent. We also found it a bit confusing tracking which beers we were ordered, but by the second drink, it didn’t bother us much. Our friends enjoyed their sandwiches, and I appreciated the biodegradable cardboard takeaway box they provided, which definitely earned them an extra star.
Upon our arrival, we found there was no hostess at the stand, and we had to search for someone to assist us. Eventually, a staff member informed us that we could simply choose a table and that someone would come to take our order. It took about 10 minutes for a waiter to bring us menus, and another 10 minutes before they returned to take our order. On a positive note, our food and drinks arrived quickly, and everything was delicious. We tried the pineapple and vodka cocktails, as well as the mozzarella wedges with marinara sauce, which were cheesy and flavorful. The French dip sandwich with fries was also excellent. After our meal, we felt quite full, so we relaxed and enjoyed some live DJ music while we digested. Unfortunately, when it was time to pay, we experienced delays once again. We had trouble finding our waiter, and my husband eventually had to ask another staff member for our bill. After it was processed, we waited about 15 minutes for our waiter to return to collect the payment, followed by another 10 minutes before we received our card back. While the food and drinks were outstanding, the service could use significant improvement. We understand it was a busy Friday night and that they might have been short-staffed, especially with capacity restrictions being lifted. Nonetheless, it shouldn't take so long to settle a bill. It appeared that waitstaff were frequently interrupted by other customers, which likely caused them to miss those of us who were waiting. I would consider returning, but I hope to see better service, ideally with a more attentive staff next time.
Following a wine tasting in Boynton Beach, some friends suggested we go to the Lakeside Anchor Inn. I had heard about this place throughout the years as a local hangout out of Lantana; no frills, come as you are, drink Bud Light, eat wings, play pool, with a decent view of the lake in the background. Located off of Hypoluxo Road just west of High Ridge Road, the Anchor is a little hidden outside of the sign that doesn 't necessarily stick out as you would hope. If you don 't know where you 're going, you can blink and miss the turn. It doesn 't help that there 's a church property in front of the Anchor, facing onto Hypoluxo. There is no accessible entrance from the street entrance through the church parking lot to the Anchor. Instead, you have to turn right on the street after the church, followed by another right and take that down to the end where you will see the Anchor... (wait for it) on the right. Just consider the directions right ... unless you 're coming from the west then it 's left and two right turns. But I digress. I did like they had some scotches I like to drink like the Balvenie 12 and Glenfiddich 15. That kept me going. I ordered peel and eat shrimp for my lady and wings (flats only) for me. They were savory, enjoyed myself immensely while having some laughs with friends as they played pool and kept that Saturday evening real. Now that I live and work farther away than I used to, I wouldn 't call this my go to even if I did live closer. But for what the Anchor is a local dive bar with a Polynesian outdoor bar and an indoor lounge with a pool table, it 's an alright hangout where you can chill for a drink.
This was my first visit to this restaurant. It had a nice large deck area with lake views. It was such a nice day, I wanted to be outside. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It was decent. Not much filler which is always a plus. The fries were extremely salty. The serving size was on the small side and overpriced in my opinion. I don't think I'll run back here anytime soon but glad I tried it.
