The breakfast menu is not exciting and has limited vegetarian options. We had egg Benedicts with truffle mushrooms. It was tasty but too expensive for a tiny portion, $20. The service was good though. The tables are too close to each other and not much space.
Love this place. It’s like a hidden gem in the suburbs. But I’m glad it is in my local area. Love Toby’s Coffee. The food is amazing. They also showcase artwork in the cafe too which is a nice touch.
Had the buttermilk chicken burger. Best chicken burger I have ever had. Wife had the poke bowl and she loved it. Great food . Staff were polite and attentive. Great experience. Food 5 service 4 ambience 4
I was quite excited to see a brand new cafe open up on Blackwood Street, my local area and Hobby Lane did not disappoint. I visited mid week for brunch and it was already quite busy so I can imagine on the weekends it must be packed. My drink order was taken right away and I really enjoyed the fresh juice it came out very quickly. I chose to order from the specials board potato and ricotta waffle, smoked salmon, poached egg, chipotle hollandaise and avocado salsa. Being pregnant, I had to change 90% of the dish and was delighted that the staff and kitchen were so accommodating. I swapped the salmon for crispy bacon, poached for scrambled egg and asked for extra avocado in place of the hollandaise. It is rare for kitchens to be so accommodating and I was very grateful for them being so cool about it because I really wanted to try that waffle!<br/ <br/ My meal was served very quickly and everything just worked. All individual elements were delicious but together, they were also amazing. The bacon was so crispy, the salsa was fresh and flavoursome, the waffle was great and the eggs were also nice. This dish is a cracker, it should go on the everyday menu. <br/ <br/ There was some confusion over what dish I should be paying for because I made so many amends to it and I did question the price (turns out I had been charged twice for bacon) but rectified very quickly. This is a fantastic little cafe, a real gem for Mitchelton and I will definitely be back yum!
The break to go burger was excellent.ive never given breakfast burger a 5/5 before. The halloumi and bacon and relish worked so well together. I just wish it was bigger. Coffee was good as well. Well done to the staff.
