I waited to review this one until I went back (and funnily enough ordered the same thing! . The food is consistent, the sashimi fresh and reasonably priced and the fried chicken bowl adequate a bit too much rice vs protein for my liking. Not a bad option for a quick lunch in the city
Whether it's a quick stop over before the footy or an after work dinner, Karaage hits the spot! Plenty of options to choose from whether it's a hot meal or quick bite of sushi. <br/ <br/ I've been here a few times now (first time with the fabulous Cino's Mum and the other half) and ordered the same thing each time! Our recent trip, I ordered the Karaage Chicken and it was so yummy! Crispy chicken, fluffy rice, Japanese mayo who can really complain? My chicken was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and the rice perfectly cooked. The prices are really good, portions are great, staff very friendly and so easy to find! Definitely a go to for me when I want something quick, simple and delicious!
So on a Friday afternoon after work you think 'what do you want for dinner? ' Pizza or Karaage chicken...Karaage chicken wins.<br/ <br/ Now im not and havent been a fan of Teriyaki chicken for a while due to a bad experience, but for the past couple of visits to Karaage my mind has been changed and these guys do a really good Teriyaki chicken. Shortly after 5pm on a Friday I thought this place would be a bit busier but it worked in my favour because it wasnt busy. The chicken wasnt dry and just tasted wonderful, with the perfect amount of Teriyaki sauce that ment you could get the taste of the chicken also, the lettuce was freshly washed and crispy with steaming rice at the bottom. Great choice for dinner.
Handy little lunch spot on Adelaide St, doing an absolutely roaring lunchtime trade! I ordered the karaage chicken bowl what else with a store name like that! . Despite the massive crowd, service was very quick efficient. My karaage bowl was good without being great, and the price was fairly standard for a city lunch $10 . Worth a visit, especially if you work nearby.
