The recent experience at the Woka Woka of Warrigal Shopping Centre reminded me the episode of having a dinner at this Japanese restaurant. We selected to have the Izakaya set B. Sashimi seemed not as fresh as we expected; however, the crumbed prawns and the spicy seafood udon did earn marks back. Portion was surely enough for two of us to share and $58.00 should be quite reasonable price. Not a bad dining experience? Previous rating: 4/5 Feb 2020; 4/5 Oct 2018; 3.5/5 Jun 2015
Haven’t been back here in a year or two but decided to pop by for their lunch specials ordered from the lunch special menu: tonkatsu set, sushi and udon set and the assorted bento set, all came with miso soup, sushi udon and the bento set also came with japanese fish egg from their all day menu we ordered agedashi tofu and their salt and pepper squid.tonkatsu was yummy it was a bit on the dry side but you can’t expect anything else really from a tonkatsu sushi and udon was pretty good!! sashimi was not the freshest but still nice bento set was lovely, a huge arrange of different foods tempura was great agedashi tofu was a big serving, very worth the price! (four pieces of tofu not three)squid was nice and fresh!!overall a lovely japanese restaurant in runcorn
I ordered a special bento at noon today. The taste is very good and the amount is very large. I can't finish it by myself.
I went to the restaurant with 2 kids on Sunday at 11:40am, at that time the there is only 1 table taken. The waitress gave us a table with chairs (couch) that is lower than the other. Because my kids are still young, they will have a hard time eating with that height. I request the waitress to change another table (as there are many empty tables)This is exactly what I said: Can we please sit at another table, because the height of the chair is not suitable for kids, can we please sit over there, (pointing at another table) The waitress looks angry, turn her back and start throwing the cutlery on the other table (no kidding), I was shocked.I then ask her, this is exactly what I said as well Are you not happy with your job? Why are you so angry , as I do care about other feelings as well. The reply was even more shocking I don 't have to smile at you, I like to do what I want. (maybe she’s the ower?)Sigh, I didn 't expect you to smile at me but at least show some basic customer service skills, like not throwing stuff. I haven 't even ordered yet. And I walked out.I have been a regular customer in Ren since they open like 5~6 yrs ago, and I notice they have to change the owner a few months ago, we used to love going there, but after today’s incident, I don 't think I will ever go back.Advice to the waitress(owner?)Life is too short to do something you hate, I don 't owe you anything, and your customer don 't owe you anything, maybe you will feel happier if you look for a career change? Also 5 mins of meditation a day will help with your anger management.Advice to the ownerTo be fair, the last time I went to your place, 3~4 weeks ago, the food was still good, service was so so, but not poor. You should provide proper training to your staff. Looking at the recent reviews of your restaurant, I think your staff x it up badly.
