Delicious seasonal food, excellent coffee from Toby's Estate. Friendly vibe. Best cafe in New Farm at the moment. Also it is family friendly with a kids play area and free babychinos!
An absolutely gorgeous little cafe, and certainly a hidden gem, The Frond Cafe is definitely one to add to your 'to visit ' list. Hidden round the corner from Cafe 63, this spot has a lovely bright interior and a terrific little kids play corner. Staff are wonderful, so friendly and went above and beyond to help make us and our little people welcome.<br/ <br/ Sparkling or still water is complimentary, a huge tick in my book, and the menu has so many delicious options it 's hard to choose. I had the mushroom brunch, delicious buttery toast with mushrooms, thyme, pinenuts and feta. A winning combination and beautifully put together, I loved it! A tad under seasoned by easily fixed by adding my own and certainly better to be under seasoned than over.<br/ <br/ Other guests in our group enjoyed the avocado toast and the hash bowl, all delicious! If I were local to the area, it would be my new favourite. Great spot!
Checked out this new listing on Zomato site in the morning. Honestly, location is a little bit tricky being hide around the corner from the site of corn block of Café 63, which is the strongest competitor to it with the advantage of eye-catching location. However, I think this café build their own clientele soon due to the fact that they offer good coffee of Toby Estate, friendly service from wait-staff and the chef really show his passion in preparing the dish of Stuffed Mushroom that I ordered. In fact, I love the lay-out of this cafe, which provides the relaxing vibe for customers indulging on having a cup of coffee or enjoying their brekkies to boost up energy for the day. In addition, the coffee's taste matches my palate and the strength is also spot-on. Stuffed mushrooms are presented with two poached eggs on the side of three large stuffed Portobella Mushrooms, which are stuffed with ricotta , sundried tomatoes and parsley. Those asparaguses that sit on top of the mushroom really enhance the presentation and also they balance the dishes as well. If not because the poached eggs are slightly over-cooked without running yolks, this café will achieve full mark on this review. Cheers!Rating 4.5/5
