We went camping last weekend and had the option for electric hook up. We were able to pick fresh strawberries while setting up our campsite. The area is peaceful and quiet, with beautiful views. We visited the farm shop and my daughter had a great time at the park, sand pit, around the goats, and looking at the tractors. We also picked fresh cherries, raspberries, and more strawberries. We had lunch at the cafe, which was really nice. The little shop had a variety of amazing local foods and drinks, I wished I had more money to buy everything. I would highly recommend Spencer's to others.
The homemade Sunday lunch was delicious, with a variety of vegetables served separately as nice additional touches. The rhubarb and apple crumble was really tasty. The glass of wine and beer were much appreciated. The plates were really hot and the service was good. It was good value for money and overall, a very enjoyable lunch.
My wife and I popped into this restaurant for a quick meal and ended up having a delicious roast lunch after seeing it featured on the blackboard. We both enjoyed the roast pork, especially the crispy crackling and generous serving of vegetables. For dessert, we had the apple and blackberry crumble, which was absolutely fantastic. The food truly tasted like homemade cooking, not the typical prepackaged meals often found elsewhere. We will definitely be returning in the future.
The shop is well stocked with produce, meat and frozen foods. The cafe is very good you can have a light lunch, coffee, cakes and cream teas. There is fruit to pick in season and Christmas trees to buy at Christmas.
We happened across the farm shop, after seeing signs on the main road. Set off the main road in a village, this pick your own farm and farm shop has a nice cafe attached. It was full of families enjoying lunch and cream teas. We sat out on the small decking area, enjoying the hens that apparently drop in from neighbours. Food was not fancy, but was nice home made fare. We had a tasty quiche and plough mans lunch £6 each). The decking is small without shade, but we enjoyed the spot overlooking a large grass garden and pick your own. There is a small track for child's to enjoy peddle tractors, that can be watched from the decking. Staff were bright, chatty and friendly. Home made cakes and food made this above average and a pleasant find.
