The Fountain House - Braintree

Really disappointed with my favourite Chinese restaurant delivery, I found 5 long black hairs in the Honey Spare Ribs dish and actually one wrapped around the Ribs. I'm concerned that they do not take hygiene seriously in their restaurant as we all know chefs should always be wearing hair nets when preparing food. My daughter called them up as I was very angry as now I don't feel comfortable eating anything that I ordered as well as the money I spent tonight. I was really looking forward to what I thought was a great restaurant I've ordered from for the last 3 years. After my daughter spoke to them they refused to refund the whole order and asked if we could bring it all to the restaurant, tired from working an event today this was not possible for us unfortunately. They didn't want to pick it up either. We have been refunded the hairy dish so that's the final goodbye to the unprofessional and unhygienic Chinese I have always gone to! I hope it gets better so I can return one day... Maybe.

Ordered in advance for us to pick up, food was ready, hot and delicious. No gloopy sauces. Will definitely order again. Our experience was so much better than the star rating they have.

Food is great normally but they just send the food when they feel like it over an hour early and kids are still up 40quid worth of cold Chinese not happy at all

Coke from a multi pack fine but flat and £1.20 a can come on I hate that these places get away with it especially as I work so hard for my money. Ribs btw should be ribs and not just ends with little to no meat

Sorry this happened 2 years ago but I ordered and paid for online as due to covid we decided to branch out from our usual and support a high street chinese. Order was accepted, money came put of the account and no food 2hrs later. After about a dozen phone calls which resulted in being put on hold and hung up on we finally spoke to someone. They said sorry our online isn't working we can't send your delivery. You will be refunded. 2yrs later no refund, no trust and judging by the 1 star reviews this place is a shambles. Avoid like the plague
