Contribuisci feedbackTerrible experience. A few days ago a table reserved for 4 for a sat night. Proven on time, and was said we would sit on the outside terrace. Note: It is Feb, evening, and 16 and attempt falls. What? They asked to sit in the house, they say no for capacity constraints. They say their terrace is heated and "room temperature". So let's say okay, let's guess. Well, I ask for a difference in their definition of room temperature. So cold at our table we could see our breath when talking. A rather miserable experience. The food was also cold (no surprise). And their dedication to respect the capacity limits is questionable that we went through the restaurant on our way and it was so crowded, each place at each table was filled. Actually, it was somehow relieved that we were out, instead of in the Petrie courts of the masses at the inner courts. All in all will not come back soon.
Bit of mid week brunch called for, so decided on a coupe of appetisers between the three of us at Fionn MacCool’s. A good choice indeed. The nachos (with optional added chicken) and the garlic cheddies (with optional added bacon) were very good and on...reflection were enough for six patrons, but we struggled through. With a tea, two beers of the day and two 7 Ups came to a very reasonable $56.66 tip. A great wee place for brunch (and on reviewing the menu for dinner too). Was quite when we were in, but I’d expect this joint to be busy during most nights. If not, the locals don’t know what they’re missing.
Staying near the pub so decided to give it a try. Wished we had chosen somewhere else. Service was slow (not her fault her section was clearly too big) and the food was mediocre at best.
This pub has a variety of specials that will help keep your dining out budget in good shape. Tried the thick cut calamari with spicy Thai sauce, incredibly tender pieces with just the right amount of heat in the sauce. Lamb shank was certainly a...hit again. Enjoyed the creamy salmon and leek pie tucked under a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes. A side salad of mixed greens was nicely dressed with added crunchy seeds. All dishes were served hot and expertly plated. Service was cheerful. You can expect to find reasonably priced good food in this pleasant pub. Still more dishes to try, we will be back.
This is the fourth Fish and Chips restaurant we tried in Brampton. It would probably be the 2nd or 3rd best Fish and Chips restaurant for us. We ordered a fish and chips bundle meal consisting of 4 packs of fish... and chips that came with a scuba sauce, coleslaw, chips and a piece of fish. It was packed very well in black container boxes. We liked that the fish was slightly baked and still crispy when it was delivered. My only comment is that the diving sauce was not as good as the other Fish and Chips restaurant we usually order from. The family meal is good as it is only $10/box.
